Black Lodge Mushrooms
logo and branding update

Black Lodge Mushrooms is a boutique mushroom farm that operates in the East Kootenay region of BC. They primarily sell wholesale to boutique tourism and hospitality industries, as well as the farmers markets and local produce stores scattered across the region.
The client had recently purchased the farm and was looking to update the logo elements in a manner that reflected new management whilst also paying homage to the existing, locally known brand.
The client was taking over an existing company and wanted to pay homage to the original logo. Initially they were keen for a large refresh, however as they settled into ownership and the got to know their clients and the stength of the original brand, a more subtle update was desired.
Fernie is home to a large amount of Douglas Firs, the client requested this be represent in the refresh along with a textured, traditional lodge / log cabin. To tie back into the original logo the crescent moon was carried across, as well as the incorporation and updating on the mushroom icon into the typography.
